Our Mission:
susiesselections.com
Over the past few months, we got to study and better understand the ecology and culture of the consignment and thrift shop world. Through pictures, videos, interviews, and maps, our blog illustrates the economics, fashion, social, and green characteristics of the second hand world that is slowly but surely growing in todays society.
We want this blog to not only be a website that educates and enlights the beautiful and young people of Burlington, but also promotes and sheds a positive light on thrifting. So many students of the UVM and Champlain College community thrift because we are all on a budget. As past generation's fashions are slowly making there way into modern dress, those flared jeans, platform shoes, and colorful long dresses are a lot easier to find at a cheaper price in an eclectic store like Battery Street Jeans, or Downtown Threads. You are not only saving a lot of money, and finding new items, but you are reducing, reusing, and recycling through the thrift shop world. Thrifting is not only a way to develop your own unique style but also a way to reduce your impact. So be fun, funky, and flirty this season while being friendly to our environment, because we only got one!
